HOW CARISSA MET AVERY

Carissa and Avery went to rival high schools here in Colorado, and for a while they knew of each other but were nothing more than acquaintances. Avery went away for college and Carissa began school in Greeley. When Avery came back to Fort Collins, they reconnected through social media and went on their first date in 2017. After that, the rest was history. From the very beginning, Carissa knew he was the one because life is easier when they’re together, and everything just fits.

THE SURPRISE PROPOSAL

By the time the proposal happened, Carissa assumed that her and Avery had been together long enough that he wouldn’t be able to do anything to surprise her. A week before he proposed, Avery and Carissa went out to dinner with some of their friends, but Avery was called into work and the night was cut short. They rescheduled for brunch the next week, and after brunch they decided to go to Blue Mountain Vineyard in Berthoud. They went for a walk through the gardens and were taking some pictures. Carissa noticed that Avery was shaky, and being a nurse, she was concerned that he had low blood pressure. She went over to make sure he was okay, but he was on one knee, popping the question.

THEIR FAMILY- FILLED CELEBRATION

Carissa and Avery got married at their church with 250 of their friends and family present. After the ceremony, they moved to TPC golf course in Berthoud, where they had a big celebration with everyone. One of Carissa’s favorite parts of the day was the private dinner her and Avery had together right before they were introduced as husband and wife at the reception. It was the perfect time to reflect on the day and soak in the memories.

THE DRESS JOURNEY

Before coming to Dani West, Carissa had been to one other boutique in Denver where she had tried on over 20 dresses, each of them feeling less comfortable than the one before. After that, she found Dani West, and from the second she walked in, she felt comfortable. Her stylist put her in something unexpected and different from what Carissa had envisioned, which ended up being the perfect dress. Carissa’s advice to other brides is “Go into shopping with an open mind, the stylists really know what they’re doing. Just trust them, you never know what you’re going to love!”

Congratulations Carissa and Avery! We are wishing you two a lifetime of love and happiness!
